    Nice location for a lazy afternoon lunch and stroll. Good is good and service was quick. This was mid-week, so I would assume weekend's would be more crowded and service slower. Very enjoyable outing.

    one star lost because phone would not connect to wifi. never had this problem before. second star lost because the ordering machine i used printed out a blank receipt. other than that, service was friendly and fast. no other problems to report

  • Review of "Natures Hideaway Family Campground" at De Winton

    I last visited Nature’s Hideaway about 10-12 years ago & loved it. It felt like true camping with the perk of a short drive from the city. Fast forward, they suffered damage from the 2013 flood and below you’ll read some pretty negative reviews. This is my review based on a visit this past weekend. The things I loved years ago are the same, the drive is only about 40 minutes door-to-site, the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The river is there for swimming and floating, and the landscaping still makes me feel like I’m camping. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other campgrounds so we didn’t have an issue with it. Our water hose wasn’t long enough so a new one was provided to us from the staff, to me, that’s going above & beyond. Portable toilets and flushable toilet facilities available, garbage disposals throughout, firepits & picnic tables, showers, and a little store that will have everything you forgot at home.We will return!
